GOSHRM applauds the efforts of its members to Advance the Profession and Serve the Professional.  EACH DECEMBER, GOSHRM recognizeS those who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the Greater Orlando community over the past year.


ADVANCE THE PROFESSION - GOSHRM Professional of the Year

Purpose

This annual award recognizes a Human Resources leader who has advanced the profession in a significant way.  The individuals nominated for this award serve as role models for the profession, setting the standard for others to follow and applying their expertise to enhance organizational effectiveness.

Benefits of Winning

  • Award presented at December GOSHRM member event
  • Invitation to December GOSHRM member event
  • $150 contribution made in his/her honor to the SHRM Foundation
  • An honorarium of $100 to the winner

Eligibility

Nominees must be a member in good standing with both SHRM and GOSHRM.  Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.

Guidelines

  • Entries must be received by November 14, 2015, via email to engagement@goshrm.org.
  • Submission of the entry implies support and approval of the entry by the nominee, if not self-nominated.
  • Incomplete entries may be disqualified at the discretion of the selection committee.
  • At the discretion of the selection committee, an award winner may not be chosen.
  • The selection committee is comprised of the GOSHRM Executive Committee.

Submission

Nominees are evaluated on their accomplishments and consistent demonstration of the SHRM Code of Ethics.  Comments should be limited to five (5) pages based on the criteria below:

  1. Human Resource Management Achievements: This section will highlight the overall contribution(s) the nominee has made to Advance the Profession and drive organizational effectiveness through outstanding approaches, innovative ideas or strategic partnerships.
  2. SHRM Code of Ethics/Professional Leadership: This section will provide examples of how the nominee has demonstrated the SHRM Code of Ethics.  Behavioral examples can be found at www.shrm.org/ethics.

  • Person Submitting Nomination (if not the nominee): Your name, email address, telephone number and mailing address
  • Nominee Information: Name, title, employer name and address, email address and telephone number

SERVE THE PROFESSIONAL - GOSHRM Volunteer of the Year

Purpose

Throughout our chapters and community, our volunteers dedicate countless hours to Advance the Profession and Serve the Professional. Without each volunteer, GOSHRM would not be a success! The Volunteer of the Year is recognized for actively supporting, promoting and developing the Human Resource profession through volunteerism.

Benefits of Winning

  • Invitation to December GOSHRM member event
  • $150 contribution made in his/her honor to the SHRM Foundation
  • An honorarium of $100 to the winner
